The Big Shot

“He hath said in his heart, I shall not be moved: for I shall never be in adversity.”  Psalm 10:6

Thinking we are right never makes us right.  Better it is to know the truth and live by it then to live in a fantasy that fades.  Self is a dirty image in a mirror that needs a good cleaning but doesn't have the power to clean itself.

A stubborn mind deceives itself into thinking it is above all, but the folly of it exposes stupidly.  To think we have all power and might is an illusion of a wicked heart and our weakness will be uncovered.

He has made up his mind;
It is written in stone,
And has no desire for change.

He won’t budge an inch,
He knows he is right,
And thinks he has hold of the reins.

He has no fear;
He believes he is safe,
And no one can harm him at all.

Arrogant he is,
Superior to all,
And thinks he will never fall!

(JESUS)  “Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.”  Colossians 1:15-17

The Way of the Wicked

“His ways are always grievous; thy judgments are far above out of his sight: as for all his enemies, he puffeth at them.”  Psalm 10:5

We wait for the day when all wickedness will disappear. When there will be no more darkness and yet no need for the sun. The brightness of GOD is our Everlasting Light!

The way of the wicked
It has twists and turns.
It has no borders
And many sojourns!

Their conduct is perverse
And their demands are untrue.
By their wickedness they wish,
To sway me and you!

Their thoughts do grovel
Before earthly effects.
Unable to understand GOD,
Their minds have been vexed.

They are puff up inside,
With their fiery breath!
Like the mouth of a dragon,
Speak poison and death!

“And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.”  Revelation 21:23

The Arrogant Fool

“The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.”  Psalm 10:4

Only a fool ignores GOD or believes He doesn't exist! He is full of himself and sees no need other than what he alone can supply. His eyes are blinded by his prideful heart.  He is like one that looks in a mirror and is overwhelmed with what he sees.  His ears are dull of hearing and he resists the Word of GOD!

Of what do the wicked think?
And what goes on in their mind?
Why do they think so high of self?
As they walk this earth so blind!

They walk with their heads in the air.
Their hearts are full of conceit.
They think they are always right.
They deceive and they won’t retreat!

Think it not odd, they seek not GOD.
In their mind He doesn't exist.
They refuse the truth of the Word!
And GOD, they continually resist!

“The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.”  Psalm 14:1

Follow the Leader

“For the wicked boasteth of his heart’s desire, and blesseth the covetous, whom the LORD abhorreth.”  Psalm 10:3

When man is led by false power he will fall in the same pit as his leader.  We become just like the one we allow to have an effect on our lives.  False leadership is worse than no leadership at all! Better is man to wander than to take the hand of a wicked leader!

Godly leadership is precious and when found it is like finding treasure that fulfills the hearts desire.  To find the Pearl of Great Price is far above what the heart can imagine and leads to the Path of Righteousness!

There are some questions we all must answer!  Who do we follow?  Are we following the one that promises wealth, stature and the envy of others or are we following the One that promises freedom from sin a resurrected life and peace on earth?  What is most important to us?  What we are seeking will tell us what we are inside and who are leader really is!

There he is this pompous fool,
Sitting high on boosted stool.
Lifted high by his own decree,
He seeks to deceive you and me.

He gathers together the weak and the small,
With boastful words he gathers them all.
Convincing his crowd of all his might,
They fall at his feet to his delight.

But in the end all those he deceived,
Wished they had not in him believed.
They put their trust in this pompous fool,
Instead of GOD and His Perfect Jewel!

“There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.”  Proverbs 14:12

“Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the LORD pondereth the hearts.
Proverbs 21:2

“But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.”  1 Corinthians 8:6

I’m Telling DADDY on You

“The wicked in his pride doth persecute the poor: let them be taken in the devices that they have imagined.”  Psalm 10:2

It is natural to anguish over the pain that others cause.  However it is the flesh that wants to return the pain to that person, by our own efforts.  Our efforts double the trouble for us and we are twice worse off.

Jesus taught us to "Turn the other cheek".  He also showed us by His example to go to the Father when we are in need.  When someone is after you and causing you trouble, turn your cheek, get on your knees and tell your Abba Father (Daddy)!

There is one that torments me;
I can’t get him off my mind.
I can’t escape the thought of him,
This one that is so unkind.

With hot pursuit he charges forth.
I seem too weak to flee.
I’m crushed inside I need Your help,
LORD!  Please hear my plea!

Let all the schemes he designed for me,
That causes me such harm.
Be returned to him with double force,
And for me his attacks disarm!

“And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.”  Galatians 4:6

Where Art Thou

“Why standest thou afar off, O LORD? why hidest thou thyself in times of trouble?”  Psalm 10:1

We come to trust Christ because we see the need in our lives.  Our cry is, ‘Lord I can’t do this on my own, please help!’

We become complacent and drift away like a leaf on a slow moving stream.  It seems peaceful as we float away in our imaginary bliss.  But when we are stopped the reality of being where we don’t belong sets in.  We are far from where we belong.  Our cry now has changed to, ‘Where is GOD?’

I wonder where GOD has gone,
He seems so far away.
I wished I hadn't mistrusted Him
And went my separate way!

I don’t know how I’ll face the day,
With Him not at my side.
I wished I hadn't left You LORD.
I was stupid in my pride!

But now on bended knee I come
And ask again for grace.
Please take from me this sinfulness.
And bring me to Your place!

Now that You have lifted me
And shown again Your care.
I realize You never left.
But You were always there!

GOD doesn't hide from us, we hide from Him!

“And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden. And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?”  Genesis 3:8-9

But Men

“Put them in fear, O LORD; Let the nations know that they are but men. Selah.”  Psalm 9:20

Some have elevated themselves to a place they don’t deserve.  Thinking to high of oneself is a sure way to become little in the eyes of others.  When we can’t see past ourselves and see our need, we are a sure candidate for failure.

When man puts himself above GOD’s authority he is a fool whose life will end in tragedy.  Only a fool will deny GOD and yet we see this everyday. People contradict GODs Word, refuse His love and decide they know better.

Make no mistake about it GOD is GOD and we are “but men”!

They lift themselves tall and high;
They think they are so grand.
They imagine themselves as eagles
Flying to heights to stand.

But they are all just measly men
They haven’t got a clue.
The heights they've reached is nowhere,
And only proved themselves a fool!

“Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.”  2 Corinthians 12:10
