What do you think of GOD?

“Wherefore doth the wicked contemn God? he hath said in his heart, Thou wilt not require it.”  Psalm 10:13

My heart breaks when I see those, especially in my own family that have chosen their own way instead of GOD’s.  It is so hard to understand why they do as they do but a quick look at my own past reveals some of the answers!

Before I met GOD face to face I had no need for Him.  I didn't know Him as He is!  There were doubts in my mind even of His existence.  I was proud and thought I could make things work by myself.

I struggled, when I looked in the mirror I saw a sad and broken man.  Then I met JESUS!  Did the struggles leave?  No!  But I now had the ability to face anything that came my way.
The space of the universe is not big enough to explain the peace that came over me or the strength that my GOD gave to me.  I have a new mirror to look into!  When I look into it the only image I now see is JESUS!!!

I can’t understand this.
My mind can’t comprehend.
To despise GOD is abhorrent.
It is GOD that  they offend!

To treat with contempt, One so loving.
Under their feet His laws they trod.
They don’t even recognize Him,
As Creator and the Mighty GOD!

They deny His very presents.
They refuse the SPIRITS call.
With every step they turn,
They don’t see their fatal fall.

But one day He’s coming
A two edged Sword in His hand.
He’ll judge the quick and dead.
Will you be able to stand?

“The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven. As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly. And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.”  1 Corinthians 15:47-49

Arise, O LORD

“Arise, O LORD; O God, lift up thine hand: forget not the humble.”  Psalm 10:12

There is no greater peace than the peace of knowing GOD will fight our battles!  And yet we struggle time after time, trying to fight the battle on our own.  Is it so hard to let go and let GOD fight for you?

It is a matter of faith!  If we say we believe what GOD says and never rely on Him for what He has promised, we are weak and the strength of GOD is unused in our lives.

We don’t have to wait to see the Glory of GOD, we can see it now!  He reveals Himself to us as He takes control of our battles.  He did “Arise” and He will “Arise” in every battle He fights!

Oh the joy I have for tomorrow.
I know the Lord has my hand.
Never does worry beset me.
In Him alone I will take my stand.

When I’m torn by those that hate me,
Set apart for them to press.
I feel the Lord here beside me,
Now I’m ready to face the test.

I feel His hand now upon me;
His assurance is at its best.
“Arise, O LORD”, you’re my armor.
While you fight, I’ll just rest!

“Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.”  Deuteronomy 31:6

No! GOD Doesn't Forget

“He has said in his heart, God has forgotten: he hides his face; he will never see it.”  Psalm 10:11

It’s been awhile now,
I think GOD forgot.
No longer will I worry.
I don't think I'll get caught!

Perhaps He didn't mean to say,
The things He did speak;
I will go my merry way,
My own ways will I seek!

I don’t even feel Him now,
He is no where to be found,
So what I do is up to me.
I know I will abound!   NOT!

“The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?”  Jeremiah 17:9

God never forgets what He has spoken.  But He does forget our sin when we trust what He has spoken!

“I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.”  Isaiah 43:25

A foolish and wicked heart believes God isn’t aware of our disobedience to what He has spoken!

“Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.  Galatians 6:7

The Wicked will Cower

“He croucheth, and humbleth himself, that the poor may fall by his strong ones.”  Psalm 10:10

The believer lives by the hope of their salvation.  Their faith carries them through any situation they are faced with. There is no one, not even Satan has the power to defeat them.

The wicked of the world may beat us to the ground.  They may bruise our bodies or even destroy it.  But we have JESUS, and that’s enough!  His power is above all power and no one has more power then He has!

If you try to destroy Him by drowning Him, He will walk calmly on the water!  When the storm comes upon Him, He tells it to calm down!  Put Him in a furnace of fire and He will refuse to burn!  Put Him in a den of wild and hungry beasts and they will lie at His feet and purr!  Kill Him and He will raise Himself from the dead!

Awful is the ways of the wicked.
Evil minds, immoral and bigoted!

They are without concern for another.
Absorbed with self, they’re the devils brother!

They think themselves wise without error.
They walk around with their nose in the air!

They’re out of control, they take all they can.
To ruin you is part of their plan!

But don’t be weary of their wicked ways.
Trust in JESUS and give Him praise!

One day they will have their special hour.
They’ll fall face down, we’ll watch them cower!

“What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth. Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.”  Romans 8:31-34

Out of the Mouth of the Lion

“He lieth in wait secretly as a lion in his den: he lieth in wait to catch the poor: he doth catch the poor, when he draweth him into his net.”  Psalm 10:9

Just as the wicked prepare the way for our destruction we too must prepare ourselves in advance against such peril.  The only way to escape the net of the wicked is by putting our trust in the One that has paved the road before us.  Jesus provides our safety on the road built with His blood.

The lion crouches down,
Waiting for his prey,
So does the wicked one,
Wanting you to slay!

The lion lays waiting,
Planning out his snatch.
The wicked prepare their plan.
It’s you they want to catch!

They watch every move you make
They come close by your side.
They draw you into their net.
And leave you petrified!

There is never a ditch to fall in
Or any miry mud!
When you trust in JESUS
And His precious blood!

“Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.”  Jude 24-25

They Watch and Wait

“He sitteth in the lurking places of the villages: in the secret places doth he murder the innocent: his eyes are privily set against the poor.”  Psalm 10:8

When we find ourselves satisfied and comfortable with the way things are going, we are at our weakest.  We are more vulnerable when we feel good and don’t seem to have a worry in the world then at any other time.  Complacency is a killer!

We are at all times being watched. We may not see them but they are there, watching for either good or evil.  As Christians we would never want to be a stumbling block to the person that has their eyes on us, desiring Christ.

Those that are out to do us harm and ruin our testimonies are constantly waiting for the perfect opportunity to do just that.  And they will if we fall asleep!  I don’t care how strong you are without the help of JESUS, you are too weak!  Don’t become a bull frog and get all puffed up, you might get stepped on!

Thinking about an owl I watched everyday out of the window of my house, taught me a great lesson.

I used to watch an owl,
That sat high on a tree.
Everyday that came,
It would take a look to see.

Was there an unwary mouse
In the field below?
Every time there was,
Away the owl would go.

He would swoop down below,
From the top of that tree.
Down to get the mouse,
That had no time to flee.

There are owls you know,
Just as humankind.
Watching every step,
Even yours or mine.

They watch from secret places,
Our each and every move.
Hoping we will faint
And not be able to move.

So my little mice
Keep a watchful eye.
Always be alert
Watching toward the sky.

This same advice I give to you,
Those that follow Christ.
Keep your eyes on Jesus
And never be enticed!

“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”  James 4:7

The Forked Tongued Fool

“His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and fraud: under his tongue is mischief and vanity.”  Psalm 10:7

Satan has from the beginning been a deceiver and a liar!  He is identified as a serpent, a slimy crawling creature full of poisonous venom.  He speaks through a forked tongue which under is found fangs that produce the poison that destroys and causes death!

He is a chameleon that appears as one thing but is another.  He is a deceiver that promises gold but it is fools gold that tarnishes!  He promises diamonds but gives paste! He uses the very word of God, twisting it to say things it was never meant to say.  His purpose is to convince and control the mind of those that are deceived.  His way is beautiful to the eye and sweet to the ear, but it is full of vanity and its end is Hell!

Out of his mouth spew profanities,
He blasphemes The Most High GOD.
When his followers hear his utterance,
They stand and do applaud!

Each word he speaks is treacherous,
Deceitful and full of fraud.
He tries to convince his listeners,
That his words come straight from God!

But the faithful of Jehovah,
See through his sinful wit,
One day with our hands raised high,
We’ll cheer when he’s put into the pit!

“And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.”  Revelation 20:1-3
