The Dried Pond

THE DRIED POND
For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be.” Psalm 37:10
We need not fret over the abundance of those that have chosen their own way rather than the Lords. They seem rich in this world but their riches like themselves will disappear like a pond that has dried from the summers heat. “For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be”
They may disappear from this world but like the saved the soul never dies. One day the wicked will be raised and stand before CHRIST in their body and be judged. Their once held riches has turned to Hell’s torment and their pleasure and satisfaction is far from them. “yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place”
You will no longer see the wicked where they once were. “His seat at the table is vacant; he is seen no more riding over his grounds; he is no more in the social circle where he found his pleasure, or in the place of business or of revelry: you are impressed with the feeling that "he is gone." You look where he was, but he is not there; ” ~ Albert C. Barnes “and it shall not be.”
What happened to their glory,
It has vanished far away.
Far from any resemblance,
In the place they now stay.
They have changed their place of glory
To a place of high regret.
Wishing that’d trusted JESUS,
Who had paid all their debt.
“And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.” Revelation 20:11-15

Refreshed By Patience

“For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth.” Psalm 37:9

It is difficult when we see others prosper while we seem to be in need.  It is twice bad when the one that is prospering isn’t living for the LORD.  A pity party is never the answer when we are in need but we are refreshed when we trust the promises of the LORD.  If our desire is to be rich in this world our desires are missed placed.  We have an everlasting hope filled with the riches of CHRIST but the worlds blessings are temporary. “For evildoers shall be cut off”

It is hard to have patience but the experience we receive from patients enlightens the heart and causes us to understand the reality of the LORD fulfilling His promises in our lives.  He presents Himself to us when we totally rely on Him. GOD always honors our patients. “but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth.”

Why do they have much
While I have much less?
Why do they prosper,
Is anyones guess.

Why should I worry
About what others gain?
I’ll wait on my JESUS
And remove all my pain.

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1

“Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope: And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.” Romans 5:1-5

Forgetting Anger

“Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.” Psalm 37:8

It is so easy to justify being angry and caring out some wrathful act.  After all the world does this continually to us.  It doesn’t seem fair that we must restrain ourselves and allow others to take advantage of us.“Cease from anger”

We must ask ourselves, what makes us so special?  It certainly isn’t ourselves that makes us pure.  We are sinners saved by grace. The only good in any of us is JESUS who lives within the believer.  It is all His purity and none of ours!  We live by His Word not our instincts.  It is only pride that that calls us to anger and preform wrathful acts.  Following what JESUS taught us will help us to, “forsake wrath”.

Don’t get caught up in turmoil and forget what you are called to be.  “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.”  fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.”

When I’m angered by another
And feel I should retaliate.
I will remember what JESUS told me,
Forgetting anger, CHRIST I’ll imitate.

So much sorrow is caused by wrath.
So much pain we do inflict.
Not only on the one we’re after.
But on the Savior, we do afflict.

By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.” John 13:35

I Rest My Case

“Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.” Psalm 37:7

The best advice is sometimes hard to take especially when we are in some type of heartache.  We cry and wrestle with ourselves, we try to make sense of what is going on and make things twice bad. Putting ourselves completely at rest in the LORD is the kind of advice that will calm the mind and free the soul. “Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him:”

It is easy to compare our situation with that of others.  We wonder and fret over the the reasons why others are so much better off.  In reality we really don’t know what it is like to be in someone else's shoes and we only see ourselves as victims without a cause. “fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way”

It is difficult when we see the world prosper while they live lives that are full of sin. The believers prosperity is in CHRIST, we are the winners.  There is nothing the world has that can compare to the victory we have in JESUS. We are aliens in a foreign land. This world is not our home. We look for a better place! “because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.”

Trials can rage against a soul,
But resting in the LORD brings peace.
Trying to fight it on our own.
Will cause our heartache to increase.

What others have can cause us  pain
If we fret and wonder why.
But to understand what we have in CHRIST
Will completely satisfy.

“I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you. He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.” John 14:18-21

Noonday Light

“And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.” Psalm 37:6

Trying to live a life that is CHRIST honoring is not always easy.  We may be doing the best we can and our hearts desire may be to show the righteousness of CHRIST to those around us, but you can be sure the discouragers are close around.  Some are “wolves in sheep clothing” and sadly others are fellow believers puffed up in their own pride.  Here in this verse we find the promise of sweet deliverance. “And he shall bring forth thy righteousness”

No critic’s darkness has the ability to overshadow the Light and Glory of the SAVIOR.  Not even the light man offers will out illuminate the “Noonday LIGHT” which out brightens all creation.  This LIGHT is JESUS who created all lessor lights. “as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.”

At times I find my walk not easy.
My only propose is to follow Thee.
Help me LORD to righteously love you,
And keep the enemy far from me.

Help me LORD to always trust You.
Hold my hand as I walk with Thee.
Trusting always in Your promises.
Shine Your Light over me.

Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” John 8:12

Sharing All Not Part

“Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.” Psalm 37:5

We often think of commitment as one action but the process of commitment is not confined to one step but many especially when we are considering our walk with The SAVIOR.  Going a “way” is the continual action of many steps. It is better to commit each step to JESUS no matter how big or small the step is. “Commit thy way unto the LORD”

Real trust is complete trust not only when things are going bad and you are looking for help but in the good times also.  CHRIST deserves the preeminence in our lives.  We should include Him in everything we do, sharing all not part. “trust also in him”

We have confidence in CHRIST that He will do exactly as He has promised without the inkling of doubt.  The formula to this verse is easy understood by the three points of it. 1. Commit  2. Trust 3. “he shall bring it to pass.”

We are in this walk together,
Me and my LORD.
We are bound by the SPIRIT
We are of one accord.

HE cares about all that we do,
And in they way in which we go.
I give everything to my JESUS.
He love me and I love HIM so!

“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6

JOY! Now and Forever

“Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.” Psalm 37:4

Unbelievers delight themselves in the pleasures of the world.  Their satisfaction comes from the flesh, this is what brings them joy.  But what of the believer?  If they also find their joy in the flesh they are no better off and are living a  false life filled with sorrow.  The flesh brings temporary joy  which is the  unbelievers part in life.  As a  believer you have perfect joy if you would “Delight thyself also in the LORD”

Our desires tell us the state of our heart.  This is not to say we will not be tempted by things of the flesh but a clean heart will cling to the things that are honoring to the LORD.  “Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.” (Galatians 5:16) When we walk with GOD our desires are of a spiritual nature not that of the physical. “he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.”

When we are believers
And live in a fleshly way.
We live a life that’s empty.
Joy has a temporary stay.

But when our delight is in JESUS.
And our desires we before Him bring.
Our joy is everlasting,
Our hearts will always sing.
