FEAR THIS

For the arms of the wicked shall be broken: but the LORD upholdeth the righteous.” Psalm 37:17

Arms are the strength of the body, the instruments used to accomplish a goal. As for the wicked and their strength, it will be broken into pieces. For the arms of the wicked shall be broken

The other side of this coin is, “but the LORD upholdeth the righteous.” We don’t depend on our own strength.  We rely on the strength of the Almighty who’s power is above all power, who’s strength can not be diminished or impaired.

Oh the power in Jesus name,
He ushers His saints on.
Bringing strength to each of them.
As they sing the victory song.

No need to worry, or to faint
When we’re faced with the enemies goal.
We just keep trusting Jesus,
As He destroys our every foe.

Psalm 46
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah. There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High. God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early. The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted. The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah. Come, behold the works of the LORD, what desolations he hath made in the earth. He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire.  Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

A Satisfied Mind

A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked. Psalm 37:16

What is little in the eyes of the world is much in the eyes of the believer. The worldly seek after the abundance of riches while the believer is satisfied with only what they need.

The righteous understand the Lord is the supplier of all their  needs while the ungodly are not able to satisfy their craving for more and more.

Better it is to have the blessing of the Lord on the way you are living than to have the curse of temporary satisfaction and constant worry over loosing what you have.

What seems small to some others.
Is so great in my own eyes.
Knowing that the Lord has blessed it.
Brings me joy, so great in size.

What we have here in the present
Is only temporary and soon is gone.
Little is much when God is in it.
Blessed by Jesus, you can’t go wrong.

But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.Philippines 4:19

BACKFIRE

“Their sword shall enter into their own heart, and their bows shall be broken.” Psalm 37:15

The attempt of the wicked to bring devastation on the righteous will in the end turn against them. The Lord of Glory will make it happen.  His eye is always over the righteous and His promise is to keep them. “Their sword shall enter into their own heart”

The once feared weapons of the wicked will crumble before them. Their strength will quickly dissolve, they will be left defenseless and the righteous will be strengthened by the Lord.  “their bows shall be broken.”

They brought the sword.
They stretched the bow.
By force, they tried to harm me.

But the plan they made,
Turned on them.
Because the love of God
Surrounds me.

“But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.” 2 Thessalonians 3:3

“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.” Isaiah 41:10

THE STRONG SAVIOR

“The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, and to slay such as be of upright conversation.” Psalm7:14

A drawn out sword is an indication of the eagerness to do battle.  The wicked are not only eager but ready without provocation to pounce upon the upright.  The believer would be misinformed to think otherwise.  The goodness of the righteous is the only irritation the wicked needs to make use of the drawn sword.  “The wicked have drawn out the sword”

The technique the wicked uses is as harsh as it can possible be.  There is no shortcut, no weakness; they come with full force to destroy.  They have chosen not only their sword but also the greatest bow with which they have to bend with the foot because of its strength.  “and have bent their bow”

Their purpose is “to cast down the poor and needy”. Their power overwhelms, they are too strong for the upright.  When the upright fights under their own power they are defeated. “to slay such as be of upright conversation.”

I’ve tried to understand,
The way of the wicked.
Without provocation,
They’ve come to destroy.

Their power is too great.
On my own I’ll be defeated.
I’ll ask my Strong Savior,
For His angels to deploy.

"If ye were of the world, the world would love its own: but because ye are not of this world, but I have chosen you our of the world, therefore the world hateth you."  John 15:19

GOD KNOWS THE OUTCOME

“The Lord shall laugh at him: for he seeth that his day is coming.”  Psalm 37:13

Every thought and scheme of the wicked is utterly vain and foolishness to God. The attempt of the wicked to override what God has spoken is reckless and completely useless.  “The Lord shall laugh at him”

God never takes the wicked serious, He knows their outcome.  No mere man will ever outsmart The Holy God. “he seeth that his day is coming.”

Why would one strive with God?
Thinking they can compete.
All their schemes shall come to naught,
And it’s failure that they will meet.

In the end the wicked will lose.
You can’t wrestle with God and win.
The only hope the wicked has.
Is to trust Christ and give Him their sin.

“Woe unto him that striveth with his Maker! Let the potsherd strive with the potsherds of the earth. Shall the clay say to him that fashioneth it, What makest thou? or thy work, He hath no hands?”  Isaiah 45:9

WHEN OPPOSITION COMES

“The wicked plotteth against the just, and gnasheth upon him with his teeth. Psalm 37:12

There is a different way of approach for the wicked than there is for the just. The just depend on God to fight their battles while the wicked depend on themselves.

This verse speaks of the wicked and their approach. They “plotteth”, that is they scheme not only as one but they caucus together making their plans for the defeat of the “just”.  The wicked plotteth against the just”

They lack manners and go to any degree to accomplish their wicked plans.  Truth has nothing to do with their advance; they will do anything to get their way no matter who it hurts.  They are subtle like their father the devil.  They are as the magician who with the slight of hand deceives.  and gnasheth upon him with his teeth.

The wicked rage against us
Plotting to destroy.
With slanderous opposition
They really do enjoy.

Yet the just shall not be beaten,
The Lord is at their side.
He brings them through the battle.
The Lord has justified.

“All your enemies open their mouths against you. They hiss and gnash their teeth, saying, "We have swallowed her up. This is the day for which we have waited. We have lived to see it!" Lamentations 2:16

Simply Incredible

“But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.” Psalm3 7:11

The believer takes delight in the promises of GOD.  GOD’s promises always come true.  They are completely real and can be totally  depended on. We may be afflicted here and now but we have a promise of an everlasting future so wonderful the mind of man can not begin to conceive its wonder and peace. “But the meek shall inherit the earth”

The world we live in today is full of strife and peace is hard to find.  There isn’t much tranquility or quietness to be found.  Each day seems to bring more disruption and chaos.  While we live in the present world peace only comes through CHRIST and what He ordains.  Knowing we have a magnificent future is a wonderful thing but to understand we don’t have to wait until tomorrow to have peace is simply incredible. “and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.”

It’s just simply incredible,
The peace that JESUS brings.
Helping us walk through trials,
A broken heart that now sings.

Thank GOD we don’t have to wait
To have the joy that He gives.
Keep trusting in GOD’s promises,
And you’ll know that He lives.

“Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Phillipians 4:4-7
