Forgetting Anger

“Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.” Psalm 37:8

It is so easy to justify being angry and caring out some wrathful act.  After all the world does this continually to us.  It doesn’t seem fair that we must restrain ourselves and allow others to take advantage of us.“Cease from anger”

We must ask ourselves, what makes us so special?  It certainly isn’t ourselves that makes us pure.  We are sinners saved by grace. The only good in any of us is JESUS who lives within the believer.  It is all His purity and none of ours!  We live by His Word not our instincts.  It is only pride that that calls us to anger and preform wrathful acts.  Following what JESUS taught us will help us to, “forsake wrath”.

Don’t get caught up in turmoil and forget what you are called to be.  “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.”  fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.”

When I’m angered by another
And feel I should retaliate.
I will remember what JESUS told me,
Forgetting anger, CHRIST I’ll imitate.

So much sorrow is caused by wrath.
So much pain we do inflict.
Not only on the one we’re after.
But on the Savior, we do afflict.

By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.” John 13:35
