The Repairer of the Breach

“The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.” Psalm34:18

There are many storms in the lives of the people of this earth.  Each storm is to the one in the midst of it, most horrific.  There is the storm of sickness and disease that wars against the soul and there is the storm of sin that plagues the heart of all mankind.  I have most excellent news, “The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart”

There is not a heart that is so broken that the LORD can’t repair it.  No matter how low you are today, the LORD is listening and has the great ability to speak you into happiness.  You may be broken but GOD is, “The repairer of the breach”.  You may be down but JESUS will lift you up!  You may be backslidden but your not far enough back that the LORD can’t reach down and bring you out of the mire pit. “saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.”

There is a place tis so sweet and near,
Where the  broken spirit will lose all fear.
Where hope is found and tears will leave.
In an omnipotent GOD, you can believe.

He hears the cries of those that mourn.
He will quickly arise to calm the storm.
He breathes words from His Holy mouth.
The power of which, ends the drouth.

“He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still.” Psalm 107:29

Cry Baby Cry

“The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.” Psalm 34:17

Crying is sad if I we don’t have someone to cry to that will listen.  People cry all the time for different reasons but what good does it do to cry if there is no one there to wipe the tears?  It is also sad if we have someone that will listen but hasn't the power to deliver.  Comfort is good but deliverance is sweet to the soul. “The righteous cry”

There are people that bring comfort to us when we are down and I thank GOD for them.  These are GODs angels practicing love.  These sweet souls have the wonderful ability to listen but only GOD can deliver. JESUS is both a listener and a deliverer.  the LORD heareth, and delivereth them”

There is nothing GOD can’t do, He is omnipotent.  What is out of our hands, is in His.  He never goes half way, He is a full and complete GOD.  His promise is not to help us in some things but in ALL things. “out of all their troubles.”

Call me a cry baby if you like.
I'll take no offense if you do.
I have someone that listens to me.
Wouldn’t you like someone too?

He hears all I bring before Him.
Not one thing does He let slip by.
He delivers me from all my troubles.
That’s why I continue to cry.

CHANGE! GOD Doesn’t- We Must!

“The face of the LORD is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.” Psalm 34:16

No one ever escapes the eyes of the LORD.  He is constantly looking upon the righteous and the wicked.  His eyes are inescapable and His intent for those He looks upon will never change.  GOD does not change, only man can change.  It is always up to us to change and therefore change the perspective in the way GOD looks at us. “The face of the LORD is against them that do evil”

Only the the fool doesn’t care about the legacy they leave.  They are full of themselves having no thought of those they leave behind.  They are only interested in themselves and what is going on in the present, giving no thought for others when they are gone.  They could care less about GOD, in their mind He doesn’t exist.  Such fools will be left with a legacy of contempt which no one wants to remember.  GODs plan for the righteous is a new heaven and a new earth, but the abode of the ungodly is Hell where every remembrance of them will cease. “to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.”

I felt the eyes of GOD,
Looking down upon me.
Piercing eyes they were,
Knowing all my shame.

In my heart, fear came upon me.
I wrestled deep, within my soul.
I knew change was my only answer.
To have relief, my only goal.

I made the change, I gave my life to JESUS.
Now His eyes are not the same.
When GOD looks down from His place in Glory
His eyes are full of grace and never shame.

A Delightful Sight

“The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.” Psalm 34:15

There isn’t a more delightful site to see than that of a mother looking at the child she holds in her arms. There is just such a sense of love that is so apparent. We see the innocence of the child who is completely dependent upon the mother.  This is what the Father sees in the righteous, the innocence and the dependence they have on Him.  Innocence because they have been made innocent through the Son, they totally depend on Him for their salvation. He looks upon them with great delight! “The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous”

“His ears are open unto their cry” just as the mother to her child.  His ear is stretched out to hear the cry of the righteous, never too far away that He can’t hear the slightest sound of need.  God’s love is intense, His ears are on alert at all times.

This verse is the promise to the righteous.  God hears everything they utter.  Every plea for help in every need they have.  He will never fail the righteous, we believe by faith this is truth.  He provides the evidence by His response and our faith is made real.

The only prayer that God hears from the unrighteous is the prayer of their need of salvation through the Son.  Other than that Gods ears are closed and their speech is wasted.  “The just shall live by faith”

God looked upon me,
My faith made real.
The blood of the Son
My only appeal.

Now God hears me,
For everything.
I’m made righteous,
I’m a child of the King.

“Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.” Romans 5:1-2

In The Pursuit of Happiness

“Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.” Psalm 34:14

The continued instruction of David is of great advantage to those that will listen and pursue it.  Good advice is better than the deception of fools. It is better to follow the path of one who has walked the path before than to walk behind a tenderfoot.

Depart from evil” for in doing so you will add many days to your life!

“Do good” and have the ability of lifting your head high!

“Seek peace” to all you meet and anguish will flee from you!

“Pursue it” with all your heart, mind and soul, let nothing hinder you!

A wise reminder from a godly person,
Is more precious than all the gold.
Showing you the good path to walk,
Are the best words you’ll be told.

To heed to them is wise my friend,
To pursue them will keep you whole.
They’ll give you peace in this life,
Happiness is the only goal!

“The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel;

To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding;

To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity;

To give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion.

A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:

To understand a proverb, and the interpretation; the words of the wise, and their dark sayings.

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.” Proverbs 1:2-7

Tongue-Lip-Syndrome

Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.” Psalm 34:13

Much has been said in the Bible about the tongue. It of course is speaking about what comes out of the mouth, the tongue giving the ability to speak. I wish I could say a few, but many times I would be better off if my tongue was missing so what I speak could not be heard.

We understand by what David wrote, we don’t need to cut out our tongue but we need to control it.  How sad it is for those that have no ability to speak out loud and just as sad for those of us that have the ability to use it, and instead of using it for edification, use it for evil. “Keep thy tongue from evil”

Confession is good for the soul.  Knowing this fact and knowing what has come out of my mouth, I need a bug lip!  I know what you are thinking.  You may say just as I do, “as I spoke, I couldn’t believe what I was saying”.  “Somehow it just came out”.  Sometimes it comes out without meaning what we were trying to say, but never the less, it was there and you own it. “and thy lips from speaking guile.”

I have drawn a couple of conclusions concerning the tongue-lip-syndrome.
First, our inability to have complete control shows us our need of the Savior. It is a picture of our fallen nature.  Second, if we put into our minds things that build us up rather than trash we will have a much better chance of controlling these members of our body.

I can’t believe I said that,
It just came flowing out.
Sometimes the things I say,
Make me want to shout.

Sometimes I shout in victory,
At other times in shame.
But what I have said,
There is no one else to blame.

For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:” 1 Peter 3:10

The "GOOD" Life

While I understand David is preparing the reader for the next verse, the question by itself seems obvious.  Of course man desires a long, healthy and prosperous life. “What man is he that desireth life”

Life is hope and death is the enemy.  While we live, there is hope of change, but when death comes it is the end of our decisions.  When death arrives at our door, we face the choices we have made in this life.  A good life prepares us for the reality of death and what is to come thereafter.  Poor or bad decisions in this life will destroy the hope of tomorrow.  Longevity of this life is wasted away when we depend on self rather than the precepts of GOD.  “loveth many days”

Real hope of life is not in the hear and now, it is in the everlasting life promised by our LORD.  Even the most spiritual mind of the greatest believer can not fathom what GOD has prepared for those that have placed their trust in Him, through CHRIST.

The other side of the coin is the same.  No one is able to fathom what is prepared for the one that refuses the provision CHRIST!  The question I propose today is which place do desire and what provision have you made?

The only logical answer, if you are to “see good”, is to trust CHRIST with all your heart, mind and soul.

A waisted life in the here and now,
Full satisfaction, it will disallow.
But salvation is full and free,
Through JESUS a good life you will see.

Not only a good life in the here and now
But future glory, CHRIST will endow.
Full satisfaction now a guarantee.
All fear of death gone, you’re set free.

Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.” Matthew 22:37

For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.” James 4:14b
