A Heavy Hand

“For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: my moisture is turned into the drought of summer. Selah.” Psalm 32:4

Rebellion against GOD is a cancer that eats away to the most inward part of the soul, it is the destroyer of peace, and it annihilates unity.  The life of the one whom has found himself under the heavy hand of GOD will not rest.  He is a restless soul! “For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me:”

The river that once ran strong has become a trickle and soon it will dry up. All hope has run from you and the desire for life has become anxiety.  I’ll just quit the mind says, I have no reason to keep on.  My blood has stopped my breath ceases, my feet won’t move.  All I have left is my tears and they are drying up. “my moisture is turned into the drought of summer.”

The saddest part of rebellion is the one that remains in it.  There are no excuses, no reason at all to continue in this pitiful state.  Do you think you can fight GOD and win? Do you think you can out last Him?  The answer to both is of course no! “For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.” Isaiah 9:12   Give your heart fully over to the LORD and He forgive and bring you back where peace and unity reside.

I struggled with GOD
But could not win.
I broke inside,
Because of my willful sin.

All is gone
I feel so weak.
I’ll bow before,
The Masters feet.

“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.” Matthew 11:28-29

Perpetual Happiness

“The LORD bringeth the counsel of the heathen to nought: he maketh the devices of the people of none effect.” Psalm 33:10

The opposite of GOD’s perfect design is the work of fallen man.  He is ever trying to make things work well for himself but never is able to accomplish what he desires. When it comes to man, all he tries to do  without the ALMIGHTY will come to nought.  It is vacant of perpetual happiness. “The LORD bringeth the counsel of the heathen to nought:”

The design of GOD works in perfect harmony with His will. Nothing can effect what GOD puts together.  On the other hand when man strives on his own to make things work in the end they will crumble before him.  Temporary satisfaction is like an image in a mud puddle.  It looks good as long as the water is still but when it is stirred it loses its essence. “he maketh the devices of the people of none effect.”

Only the fool would wast their time and effort trying to make life worth living without the help of GOD.  Why spin your wheels in the sand?  Why watch what you desire in your life disappear before you?  Learn from the wise man Solomon who tried everything he could to find satisfaction and finally came to this, “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.” Ecclesiastes 12:13-14

What GOD has done will always be
No matter what might come.
His perfect love for you and me.
It is perfect and is plum.

I won’t waist my time on what I know,
But I will totally trust His plan.
Taking the steps that He directs.
Instead of fallen man.

“The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.” Psalm 14:1

WHEN GOD SPEAKS

“For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast.” Psalm 33:9

GOD spoke, it was!  As GOD spoke it happened!  What happened depended on what GOD spoke.  When GOD speaks it is with all authority, it is full, complete and unchangeable! “For he spake, and it was done;”

GOD’s Word is established by what He speaks and has spoken. It will never fade or lose it’s integrity, it stands for eternity!  GOD’s Word is held together by His attributes of Omniscients, Omnipotence and Omnipresence. “he commanded,”

It is foolishness for man to disregard and disrespect what GOD has written and He will not hold them guiltless that do. It in inconceivable to think man can change or improve on what GOD speaks through His Word.  Yet man in his feeble attempt to show himself wise attempts to do this very thing.  He adds to what GOD speaks.  He attempts to change what GOD has written. He maneuvers what God has said and tries to rewrite it to say what he wants it to say.  “and it stood fast.”

It is the folly of man to disregard GOD’s Word.
To me this is totally absurd.
What GOD has to say is spoken by Him.
Not to accept it is totally grim.

So forget what you think and all that you know
And rest completely upon GOD’s Word.
For in it you’ll find life at its best
And in it you’ll be constantly assured.

JESUS is the Word!

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.” John 1:1-5

Heart to Mouth

“Let all the earth fear the LORD: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.” Psalm 33:8

Unity is a wonderful word that expresses harmony among all.  All is  the most inclusive word in the language of man, no matter the dialect.  Wouldn’t this world be much better if all understood the benefit of a relationship with the Savior, for all to live in harmony and all to have the peace that passes understanding?  David’s comment wasn’t one of condemnation but rather the real desire for all to have the same kind of relationship he had with GOD. “Let all the earth fear the LORD:”

How wonderful it would be for all to have the same attitude as David.  I honestly believe all whom have become Christians of the born-again type  will have the desire for others to become believers.  How could they not?  What seems hard is to move the desire from the heart to the mouth.  GOD help us to include all people of all kinds, telling them all of the saving grace of JESUS. “let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.”

I saw them scattered,
Everywhere I looked.
Some with a shepherd,
And others were forsook.

My heart it was broken,
As I watch them wander by.
Let me speak with power
Of the One that can unify.

One day we’ll stand together
In awe of what He’s done.
All are brought together
Giving honor to the SON.

Constantly Consistant

“He gathereth the waters of the sea together as an heap: he layeth up the depth in storehouses.” Psalm 33:7

Today we live in a world of inconsistencies where we don’t know from one moment to another what may happen next.  We are seeing things taking place we would have never thought possible.  We have seen our society drop to such a low degree and yet as a whole see nothing wrong with it.  We have taken the natural and changed it to the unnatural.  We have disregarded the GOD of constant consistency and followed the foolishness of fallen man.

Let me remind you GOD has a plan and He is constantly consistent in His desire to keep it.  GOD won't fail!  Man fails in his feeble attempt to convince the minds of foolish people that his way is love, but mans type of love is not love at all.  Mans love is counterfeit, it’s paste disguised as diamonds.  Mans love will change at his next attempt to change GOD’ plan for his own.  What GOD says is established and can’t be altered.  His Word declares it, it is what it is.  It makes no difference if like it or not, it is GOD’ Word and what GOD speaks will come to pass.

“He gathereth the waters of the sea together as an heap:”  GOD does what man can’t understand. His abilities are far above our own.  By His power the waters are brought together and held.  He places them where He will and distributes them at His pleasure. “he layeth up the depth in storehouses.” We may not like the way He does things but you can be sure of this fact, GOD will remain, constantly consistent in all He does!

You always know where you stand with GOD,
He never changes His way.
There are no surprises in what He has planned.
We’re safe when we trust and obey.

Never a worry for what the day brings
Whether it is happy or sad.
We rejoice in the LORD’s consistent Word.
It makes us continually glad.

“For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.” Colossians 1:16-17

You Can't Get Better Than Perfect

“By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.” Psalm 33:6

When GOD speaks things happen.  His words are calculated they are sure and absolute.  When He speaks the outcome is always the right conclusion to the matter.  When GOD speaks it is the end of the story, nothing can be added to what He says or what He does.  You can’t make perfect any better than perfect already is. “By the word of the LORD were the heavens made;”

The vastness of the heavens declare the power and the Glory of GOD.  The brilliance of the heavens declare His desire to delight the heart with all His beauty.  “By the breath of his mouth.” He placed each star in its perfect place to show the perfection of His design.  Each planet and star set as the jeweler would precious stones in the ring for the bride.

God opened His mouth, His speech was clear.
By the words He spoke, made He the heavens appear.

Out of His mouth, He breathed full and free.
He blew into existence, so all man could see.
He dotted the sky in the great high above.
Filled it with diamonds, to show us His love.

Tonight when you look at the heavens GOD made.
You’ll see a picture of His Glory with stars on parade.
Some will sparkle and some will just shine.
Some will shoot across the sky through His design.

There is but one conclusion to all of this.
GOD’s creation is full of beauty and bliss.
Don’t take for granted this beauty you see.
It is a picture of GOD’s love for you and me.

“For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.” Isaiah 45:18

Full of Goodness

He loveth righteousness and judgment: the earth is full of the goodness of the LORD.” Psalm 33:5

Two wonderful attributes of GOD are His righteousness and His goodness.  These two wrapped in His enormous love are what holds the world together.  If either of these were absent all hope would come to an abrupt end.

The effect of GOD’s righteousness and goodness is found in His judgment.  The judgment of GOD is always pure, it is fair in every respect.  GOD’s judgment is color blind, it is not a respecter of the person. All have the opportunity to find peace in His judgment.  GOD’s judgment is done, it is finished in the death, burial and resurrection of His SON.

My heart so yearns for
The Lord’s presence pure.
As I reach to touch Him now.
To have Him place His hand on me.
Oh Lord please tell me how.

Without Your help I can not stand
Or even find my way.
As I walk along this thorny path.
In Your comfort I must stay.

Your righteousness is far above
Any that can be found.
Judgment pure and and perfect too
Your goodness is all around.

Only a fool will not see the righteousness and goodness of GOD!  His judgment is pure because of these two facts!

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.” 1 Peter 1:3-5

PRECIOUS IS THE WORD

“For the word of the LORD is right; and all his works are done in truth.” Psalm 33:4

It would be senseless to say the Word of GOD is not right or faulty in anyway and yet there are those that would like you to believe just that. From the beginning Satan has tried to destroy the Words of GOD and in every attempt he has failed. He twists what GOD speaks. He tries to change the meaning of what GOD says and he uses his imps of the day to try to accomplish his purpose. BUT, “the word of the LORD is right”!

All the works of GOD are pure, undefiled and undeniably perfect. When man tries to change or add to what GOD has already said they have sinned the sin of blasphemy. GOD will not hold them guiltless. When the words of man burn in the fire of Hell but GOD’s words will stand! it is forever perfect, nothing added or taken away! “all his works are done in truth.”

In a world that is so divided,

With words we cannot trust.

Precious is the Word of GOD,

It’s righteous and it’s just.

In it we have our security.

His words revealed within.

None of which are unworthy,

They’re perfectly written in.

With each word GOD has written,

You can completely place your faith.

Never wondering if it is valid,

You can trust it and be safe.

“I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be forever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him.” Ecclesiastes 3:14

“And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.” Revelation 22:19

Let Us Sing

“Sing unto him a new song; play skilfully with a loud noise.” Psalm 33:3

When a person puts their trust in CHRIST, GOD puts within them a song. Not just a song but a new song, a song you never heard before.  Strange as it may seem I can’t recall the the words to the song.  Nevertheless I understand and receive the immense joy I receive from it.

So interesting it is, GOD gives us a song and His song causes us to sing to Him, and to all that will listen, the song of His wonderful grace.  Unlike the song GOD gave me I can without problem remember the words of the song I have for Him.  Words of His wonder and grace.  There are however not enough words written that can fill the verses for my song of Him. “Sing unto him a new song”

Help me LORD to "skillfully" sing the song of JESUS.  Allow me to hit all the notes in just they way they should be.  Help me to understand the tempo and never get ahead of the proper speed.  Let me stay in harmony with Your Word.  And most of all never let me stop singing, “with a loud noise.”

There is a song GOD gave me.
He wrote upon my heart.
Its new and its refreshing.
Such joy it does impart.

There is within this song
A medley sweet and dear.
Of all that CHRIST has done.
It brings joy and never fear.

When I sing this song He gave me
Let me do my best.
With all the power within me.
Of His grace i will attest.

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.” Colossians 3:16

Crying Ends at the Cross

“When I kept silence, my bones waxed old through my roaring all the day long.” Psalm 32:3

Sin hidden within the soul tortures the mind.  It destroys our lives and ruins the lives of those around us.  While there is only one way to find relief we resist the freedom of forgiveness and stay in our stupor just as the drunk, refusing help. “When I kept silence”

To try to fight our guilt is impossible, guilt remains until it is forgiven.  Our resistance to forgiveness will wear us down to nothing.  Although sin lies in the soul the body suffers in the weakness it causes. “my bones waxed old”

The effects of unconfessed sin will cause us to howl in our pain.  This is a groaning like cry, a roaring that never ceases.  We feel sins destruction deep within ourselves, we cry in agony and no one hears. “my roaring all the day long.”

It makes no difference how long we cry if we don’t cry out to the one that promises full forgiveness for our sin. The only one that can forgive sin is GOD!   JESUS accomplished this on Calvary’s Cross.  End your crying at the foot of the cross.  Trust Christ!

Unconfessed sin destroys the soul.
There is not a place to hide.
A tortured mind is all you’ll have.
Until in CHRIST you do confide.

All your strength will fail in slow decay.
Your thoughts will wear you out.
The shouts and cries will lingerer on.
As you walk within your pout!

Turn your cries to the One that hears
Who understands your pain.
And find relief from all your stress.
Trust CHRIST! You’ll never be the same.

“I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins. Put me in remembrance: let us plead together: declare thou, that thou mayest be justified.” Isaiah 43:25-26

Blessed Blessed Blessed

“Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.” Psalm 32:2

If there was a word stronger than “Blessed” that would come to my mind as I write this I would most certainly use it.  Somehow this word does not seem to capture the enormous expression of love and gratitude I have for the position I have in CHRIST.  Yet, I am “Blessed”, and “Blessed” and “Blessed”! “Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity”

What did the LORD see in me that He would take on Himself my vile corruption and die for me?  I must be honest, He saw no good in me.  He knew on my own I would be forever lost in my sin.  I was hideous in His eyes, I was without hope.  I didn’t like what I saw in myself, how could I expect GOD to?  Yet out of His abundant mercy GOD sent His Son to die in my place.  My own righteousness never had the ability to gain the acceptance of a Holy GOD but “Blessed” I am in CHRIST in whom I am made righteous.  He became sin for me, who knew no sin, that I would be made righteous in Him! (2 Cor. 5:21). “and in whose spirit there is no guile.”

I can never stop writing about what CHRIST did for me on the cross.  It will always keep me in love with Him.  But folks, it didn’t stop at the cross it was carried to the grave.  A grave that could not hold Him.  If it were to have stopped at the cross we could be thankful for the forgiveness we didn’t deserve, die clean, but we would have no hope for eternal live.  He paid the penalty of sin on the cross and defeat death and the grave in the resurrection!  “For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: (Rom.6:5). “Blessed”, “Blessed”, “Blessed”

In my mind I know I’ve sinned
My heart is full of shame.
It’s hard for me to understand
How Christ could take the blame.

Not because I am so good
For in me there is none.
JESUS took it all from me.
I love the FATHER’s SON!

Not only did He take the sin
But He died for me the death.
Wiping all my sin and shame.
When JESUS took His last breath.

Sin Free

A Psalm of David, Maschil. “Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.” Psalm 32:1

Sin is the hideous rebellion from all that is good.  It is missing the mark of what GOD has planed for us in order to live a peaceful, happy life.

The fact is, “All have sinned” from birth “they go astray, speaking lies” ( Rom. 3:23, Psa. 58:3).  There are none righteous, no, not one” (Rom. 3:10).  Until we experience a relationship with CHRIST and His forgiveness for our sin we have no idea of the depth of GOD’ love.  We really don’t understand peace or joy.  Peace and joy without CHRIST is here and there.  One day you have it the next you don’t.  It is a fragmented peace, incomplete and uncommon.  “Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven”

Sin tries to control us through the flesh and when we fall to its temptation it makes us most miserable.  We lose our joy and peace wants to hid from us.  The departure from peace can cause two reactions. 1. We continue in it and live worthless lives or, 2. We turn it over to the only One that can forgive and bring peace once again to us.  A true believer will never stay in the place where sin is but will fall under conviction and cry out to GOD who covers us with the blood of JESUS! This is the sign of those, “whose sin is covered.”

Sin destroys and make us weep.
Shatters our lives, and takes our sleep.

It hurts the very ones we love the most.
Separating our lives to the uttermost.

It tears down the peace that we once had.
When our hearts rejoiced and we were glad.

Oh but listen to the answer to sins dismay.
The forgiveness of GOD, takes it all away!

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9
