HE Stood

“Arise, O LORD; let not man prevail: let the heathen be judged in thy sight.”  Psalm 9:19

The thought of JESUS standing at the right hand of the FATHER in honor of His Saint is a most splendid thought.  When I think of the stoning of Steven I visualize JESUS so moved by what was taking place that He stood up for him.  This brings a feeling of the deep love JESUS had for him!

Knowing GOD does not respect one person over another tells me what He did for Steven; He will also do for all that have placed their trust in Him.  This also is a most gratifying thought.  I am comforted and encouraged by it!

Arise, O LORD!
Look down upon me.
I’m in the midst of trouble
It’s You to whom I flee!

Just to see You standing there,
And the FATHER at Your side
Will stop the stones they throw at me
With Your Glory they will collide!

“But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God, And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.”  Acts 7:55-56

JESUS Never Fails

“For the needy shall not alway be forgotten: the expectation of the poor shall not perish for ever.”  Psalm 9:18

We spend too much time and effort trying to find a way out of something that is causing us trouble.  We fight like a cat in a box trying to find an exit. We wear ourselves out and depressed sets in!

We like to think we trust the LORD for help but we find ourselves impatient. We believe we live by faith and at the same time depend on ourselves instead of GOD. Excuses for our actions come from a misunderstanding that it is GOD telling us what to do.

Real faith is complete trust and dependence on GOD for the answer without help from us!  Faith causes GOD to act and His action reveals Him to us.  There is no greater feeling then to watch the LORD answer our prayer of faith.  Especially when we didn't have anything to do with receiving it!

Be not weary oh suffering soul.

It won’t be long until you are whole! 

For every trial you will ever face.

It is met with GODs unchanging grace!

GOD understands the pit you’re in.

He’ll wipe your tears and give you a grin!

And when it’s all over you will undoubtedly say.

JESUS, my SAVIOR has shown me the way!

“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6

The Road to Hell

“The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.”  Psalm 9:17

This is the very sad conclusion for those that depend on their own goodness to satisfy their longing for peace!  There is only peace in CHRIST!  JESUS is the only hope there is!  There is absolutely no chance that anyone could satisfy the Holy GOD by doing their own works! 

On a road thought beautiful and bright,

When it turned out to be one of fright! 

The destination which I had longed for,

Switched from good to one of horror!

I thought I was good; I gave to the poor;

I even believed that I sinned no more. 

I thought that all the good works I’d performed,

Would keep me safe and I would be transformed.

But oh! What an awful blunder I’ve made,

I’m here in Hell, and I’m really afraid!

 Only JESUS, Only JESUS!

“But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath, Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile; ” Romans 2:8-9

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”  Ephesians 2:8-9

What About Judgment?

“The LORD is known by the judgment which he executeth: the wicked is snared in the work of his own hands. Higgaion. Selah.”  Psalm 9:16 

Jesus took my sin and yours unto Himself, died on a cruel cross, rose from the dead on the third day and sits at the right hand of the Father making intercession for those that have trusted Him!

When man denies the Gift of God by not accepting the provision He has made through His SON, he sends himself to Hell! 

What can we see in the judgment of God? 

Are His judgments cruel, does He rule with a rod? 

Are His judgments unjust or are they unfair? 

For you and I does GOD even care?

These questions are foolish in what they imply.

Just look what He did and at His reason why. 

Never unfair are His judgments you see,

They’re all for the good, for you and me!

But what about man in all his ways,

Is he perfect and wonderful for all his days?

Not so! You can tell by the things he has done! 

He is selfish, self-centered, and folly he’s spun!

There is a question that I have heard! 

It’s totally wrong and really absurd! 

Does God by His judgment send man to Hell? 

No! He doesn't!  It’s by mans freewill!

We make the choice! God has provided the Way! 

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”  John 14:6

Caught in the Pit

“The heathen are sunk down in the pit that they made: in the net which they hid is their own foot taken.”  Psalm 9:15 

It is the wicked that set traps for those they dislike.  They hope to spoil the contentment of the just.  Their purpose is to ruin the lives of those that are in their path and will stop at nothing to make their achievement!

The worst thing the righteous can do is fall into the pit.  Retaliation is a sure way to get caught!  Don’t be bitter!  Don’t allow yourself to fall to the lowly state of the wicked!  Humble yourself before the LORD and allow Him to fulfill the promise He has made!

When you allow GOD to take the vengeance the wicked will fall into the pit they dug and the just will see the glory of the LORD!  There is nothing greater then seeing you faith made real through CHRIST!

When you dig a pit to catch another,

Take care to where you walk. 

If you’re not careful where you step,

From the bottom you’re sure to gawk!

This is the way of the wicked,

And not the way of the just. 

Vengeance is mine, “thus saith the Lord”,

It’s in Me that you should put your trust!

I will take the traps set before you,

And cause them all to disappear.

Trust in Me, My dear children!

I will keep you from the snare!

“He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.”  Psalm 40:2

Singing the Song of JESUS

“That I may shew forth all thy praise in the gates of the daughter of Zion: I will rejoice in thy salvation.”  Psalm 9:14

I look forward to the day when we will be before the throne of God.  We are unable to even comprehend what it will be like. I vision thunders and lightning’s, the angel’s choirs singing and David playing the harp. I see all the Saints filled with the SPIRIT giving testimony of the glory of FATHER and of the SON!  Crowns put at the feet of JESUS, hands raised with continual shouts of praise. I hear the voices of the redeemed singing HOLY, HOLY, HOLY, CHRIST is KING!

One day I’ll stand before the KING,

And shout with highest praise!

Until that day allow me LORD,

To keep myself ablaze! 

While I am here and waiting

For that glorious day.

Let me shout with all my strength,

In a mighty way. 

Of the things you have done

And the peace that you do bring. 

JESUS Mighty Savior,

With my voice I sing.

We must not wait to sing and shout                  

Of the splendor of our God.

But take advantage of every moment,

Upon every trail we trod!

“That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.”  1 John 1:3

God Remembers to Forget

“When he maketh inquisition for blood, he remembereth them: he forgetteth not the cry of the humble.”  Psalm 9:12

The Lord never forgets! He always remembers! Everything we have ever done is before Him.  This may seem dreadful and it should be to those which have never trusted CHRIST!  On the other hand for those that are truly saved by placing their trust in CHRIST, they are thankful for this side of GOD.  The LORD never forgets the decision one has made in CHRIST and they are covered by the blood of JESUS!  He remembers to forget their sin!

Here comes the LORD

With a mighty hand!

He comes this time with furry,

Like a fire, that is fanned!

This occasion He appears,

His power to invoke!

On those found with sin,

There is no help or hope!

He remembers all the pain

His saints had to tolerate.

He comes to take vengeance

On those that had such hate!

The wicked they did laugh

And also they did spurn,

They rejected the only SAVIOR

And refused on CHRIST to turn!  

But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God; Romans 2:5

GOD Loves a Loud Mouth

“Sing praises to the LORD, which dwelleth in Zion: declare among the people his doings.”  Psalm 9:11

How could anyone that claims to be a believer, not shout out with all that is in them of the glory of GOD through CHRIST?  Our joy should spew from us without control, speaking of our redemption and our peace! The LORD does not use secret agents!  He instead uses loud mouths!  Sing my friend, sing the song of JESUS!

Out of my heart there comes a song,

Of the One that dwells in Zion. 

Its words assured are the praises due,

To Judah’s mighty Lion! 

His praises I’ll sing for all He’s done.

His forgiveness is ever before me.

Washed in His blood, pure and clean,

Without CHRIST this never could be!

He lifts me high that I might see,

The way He has set before me.

From the dread of Hell to Zion’ Hill,

All power and glory is through Thee!

 “I have therefore whereof I may glory through Jesus Christ in those things which pertain to God.”  Romans 15:17

Oh What A Name

“And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.”  Psalm 9:10

There is a name that sings a song to the heart, one that delights the heart completely.  A name above all names that makes all others empty.  Without knowing this name no one will truly understand happiness or the joy they can experience.  All they have is the testimony of others that have experienced it.  It isn't in just speaking the name it is living it!

Believe me when for the first time you speak the name JESUS from your heart you will know what I am talking about!  You will realize that even though others have the same spelling of the name, this time it is different!  It is special!  It is pure!  It is peace!  It is love and it is everlasting!   

How mighty the name of JESUS

Exalted high by The FATHER!

Prince of Peace! The Mighty GOD!

In creation He is the Author!

How holy the name of JESUS

The FATHERS only begotten!

The high and lifted SAVIOR

The name that’s never forgotten!

JESUS the GOD of hosts!

JESUS wonderful Savior!

JESUS for ever and ever!

JESUS our true Creator!

How sacred the day He drew me!

And out of my mouth I did cry.

Oh JESUS how I need you!

By Your grace I do comply!

Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.  
Philippians 2:9-11

Carved in Stone

“The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.”  Psalm 9:9

We are hidden by the hand of God in the cleft of the Rock where nothing can harm or hurt us!  Faith is our victory, when our faith is in the Rock!  There is a place carved out for each of us!  Step into CHRIST and find your place of refuge!

There is a place where I love to linger.

It’s carved in stone by GOD’s own finger.

It’s place where I feel so full and safe.

In the cleft of the Rock! Is my resting place!

Far from harm and far from threat,

Far from the fear that can beset!

Kept through the power of GOD divine!

My protection made sure, by GOD’s design! 

“But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.” 
2 Thessalonians 3:3 

The FATHER’S SON

“And he shall judge the world in righteousness, he shall minister judgment to the people in uprightness.” Psalm 9:8

GOD is pure, undefiled and the only One that has the authority to judge! He is righteous, He is untainted and He is virtuous in every sense! GOD is and was and will always be. He is the Creator of all and holds all things together!

If GOD is not Judge, who else can fill the spot?  His judgments are perfect as He is.  He does not play favorites!  Every judgment is in accordance to what He has spoken and every soul has the ability to obey! 

In the eyes of man GODs judgments are considered wrong but mans view never changes GOD’s righteousness and in the end GOD’s Word will stand! There are no “buts” when it comes to GOD’s Word!  What is said is the same for all, we all are included!

What a dilemma I am faced with,

Knowing my righteousness is wrong. 

For if I am judged by what I have been,

All of my hope is gone!

How can I make it and who will help?

My burden is heavy and I’m full of shame.

And how can this burden be taken away?

I know I am guilty and the one to blame!

Only the FATHER’S SON can

Give me my peace!

He said I’ll take your burden

And I’ll give you release!

“He has fixed a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness through a Man whom He has appointed, having furnished proof to all men by raising Him from the dead.”  Acts 17:31

Here Today Here Tomorrow

“But the LORD shall endure for ever: he hath prepared his throne for judgment.” Psalm 9:7

There never seems to be a consistent thing. For lasting joy in anything! 

When it seems I've been satisfied, then my pleasure and destruction do collide!  But if my hope lies in these earthly things, I can’t expect to fly on angel wings!  But if I put my trust in GOD, on His lasting hope I've trod!

He lasts forever make no mistake! When other things disappear, you can count on Him to always reappear!  When CHRIST will come to His judgment seat, on bended knees I’ll be at His feet!  I’ll understand as never before, His love for me is, for evermore!

One day it was new.

The next day it is old.

Today bright and shiny

The next day it is mold!

One day you will posses it.

The next day it disappears.

Now it’s gone forever.

And it never reappears!

Is there anything that’s consistent?

That always stays in place?

Something you’ll always have

In which you can interlace?

There is only One

That will satisfy your thirst!

He’s the same today and forever!

He’s yours if you put JESUS first!

“Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.”  Jude 1:21

Hell has a Victory!

“O thou enemy, destructions are come to a perpetual end: and thou hast destroyed cities; their memorial is perished with them.”  Psalm 9:6

Some have asked if GOD so loves why would He send people to Hell.  This of course is a ridicules question!  GOD doesn't send people to Hell, they chose it! 

He gave His only begotten Son to take care of the sin problem so that whosoever trusts, relies and adheres to Him will be saved!

There is one however that GOD will send to Hell!  “The devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.” Revelation 20:10.  That’s when Hell has a victory!

I long for the day,

When the devil work is done! 

He will be defeated  

For the chaos he has spun!

He will be put in his place,

Just where he belongs!

In Hell’s fiery pit  

For all of his wrongs! 

That day I will rejoice,

As I laugh at his fall!

To GOD be the Glory,

CHRIST JESUS is my all!

12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:

14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.

15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.

16 They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;

17 That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners? Isaiah 14:12-17 

Without Remedy

“Thou hast rebuked the heathen, thou hast destroyed the wicked, thou hast put out their name for ever and ever.” Psalm 9:5

When God rebukes His enemy, He destroys them without remedy; He blots out their name forever! 

There is no place to flee

Nor a place to go!

When you are one

Of GOD’s unregenerate foe!

You may go into the rocks

Or deep within a cave!

Wherever you try to hid

You’ll only find a grave!

So don’t think you will ever

Out run this Bible verse!

If you don’t trust in JESUS
You’re under the verses curse!

The answer to this dreadful poem is not to be found in this most horrific place!  What is written in the Word of God is sure, it can not change!  But you can! Hell is real! Trust Christ Jesus and have your name written in the “Lamb’s Book of Life”!

“And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;”  Revelation 6:15

Not Guilty

“For thou hast maintained my right and my cause; thou satest in the throne judging right.”  Psalm 9:4

There is no good in me other than Christ.  If I got what I deserved I would be put in the pit of Hell!  This is not to say that my intentions are not to do those things that are honorable and good.  But rather the things I do outside of CHRIST are worthless! 

Good intentions miss the mark and deceive you into thinking more of yourself than you deserve.  “There is none righteous no not one” “All have sinned and come short of the glory of GOD”!  Coming up short stops you from reaching the top and righteousness is the top!

JESUS is the righteousness of the believer!  You do nothing to receive it but CHRIST went all the way to the cross to give it to you! 

Jesus is my advocate,

The protector of my soul.  

Such great defense I have in Him

His strength has made me whole!

There is not another that can plead my case

Better than CHRIST for me. 

He knew my guilt and took my place,

On a hill called Calvary!

His stirring words before the FATHER,

Express such sympathy. 

The FATHER looks down and all He sees,

Is my ADVOCATE instead me!  

The FATHER brings His verdict now,

On Him my eyes do gaze.  

The words that come from Him,

To the highest degree amaze!  NOT GUILTY!

“Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.” Romans 8:34

The Power of Love

“When mine enemies are turned back, they shall fall and perish at thy presence.”  Psalm 9:3

No matter how great our fear or our worry, no matter how enormous the danger that may come our way, the believer will not be forsaken!  Whether it be pain, suffering, the loss of those we love.  God’s love for His children will carry them through any situation we will ever find ourselves in.

We are those that have overcome the world!  We are in the world but not of the world!  We are “strangers in a foreign land”! We are “Ambassadors for Christ”! 

There is a place where I’m kept  

And nothing can ever harm me. 

Under the wing of GOD’s love

I’m protected by His Army!

I’m in His care and no one

Can every come between us.

He is here by my side,

Any other help is superfluous!   

Those that come to overtake

And cause me difficulty.

Will be stopped and turned,

Under my GOD’s authority.  

Not one will stand, or be revived,

When they come into His attendance.  

Their knees will be as weak as water,

As they fall before His presence! 

“Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.  The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah” Psalm 46:10-11

Happy Clappers

“I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High.”  Psalm 9:2

There are many things this world has to offer, some good and some not so good.  Man is driven by the desire of his heart.  Desire in itself is not bad but what we desire and cling to will define our lives.

The LORD has done so many things,

My voice shall always proclaim!

With everlasting joyfulness,

I’ll cling to JESUS name!

With every thought from my mind,

I’ll think of His endless love!

My heart with glad jubilation,

Sings to Heaven above! 

Without Him life would be dreary,

And have no thought of peace,

With Him it is always hopeful,

And all worry has to cease!  

With Him I am lifted up,

Higher than the eye can see!

In the stillness of His brilliance,

I wait for Jesus to come for me!

“The desire of the righteous is only good: but the expectation of the wicked is wrath.” Proverbs 11:23

A Praisathone

“I will praise thee, O LORD, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all thy marvellous works.”  Psalm 9:1

Every plant of the world be it tree or grass, flower or shrub, they praise the LORD with all their effort!  With pedals or branches they reach for Heaven singing praises seeking the Light.  They are moved by the Spirit of the wind as they sway as if they are singing aloud in a choir, Praise the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY!

I will praise Thee, O LORD

With all of my heart.

By telling of all the things,

You have done and will impart!

The works the LORD does

Is of no surprise!

He brings blissful faces

And clear blue skies!

He is marvelous in beauty

And immense in love.

He was sent by the FATHER

And announced by a dove!

He walked the earth

And healed the sick.

He cared for the lonely

And changed the lunatic!

But most of all

Is what he did for me!

He forgave my sin

And He set me free!

Thank you JESUS!
