Riding On The SON

“The king shall joy in thy strength, O LORD; and in thy salvation how greatly shall he rejoice!” Psalm 21:1

How sweet the feel of victory that can only come through GOD.  Nothing is compared to it, its joy is overwhelming.  

When things come our way that we know are out of our control there is truly only one place to go and that is to the LORD!  But don't forget the little things.  It is important to take them to the LORD also. If we don't chances are they will turn to the ones that are out of control!

When the battles over

And labors they are done.

We’ll have jubilation 

In the Fathers Son!

Joy encapsulated 

In God’s power and His might.

Winning this hard battle 

That brought us so much fright!

I knew I couldn’t do it 

No matter how hard I tried.

The enemy was much stronger. 

So on the Son I will ride!  

Riding in His glory! 

Riding by my faith!

Trusting in my Savior!

Knowing I’ll be safe!

“Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”  Hebrews 12:2

In The Kings Care

“Save, LORD: let the king hear us when we call.” Psalm 20:9

Better it is when crying for help that someone hears you then a plea that goes unanswered.  A voice that returns only by your echo is emptiness and hope is unfulfilled.

There has never been a call to JESUS that has gone unanswered!  Neither the reason or the time of day will hinder the the prayer of the one that calls on Him!  

The first and only prayer of an unbeliever that is heard is when they realize they are in need of CHRIST for their salvation.  When that prayer is answered then and only then they will have free access to the throne of GOD!

There is no greater hope

Then the hope I have in GOD!

I have never been forsaken!

While on His path I have trod! 

Never mind all the distractions,

And all the worry that came my way.

In the end He always answers.

In His bosom my soul will stay!  

I will forever trust my JESUS,

I rest myself in His care.

Now, always and forever, 

Toward Glory I prepare!

“Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” James 5:16

Dumber than Dumb

“They are brought down and fallen: but we are risen, and stand upright.” Psalm 20:8

Only a fool would think he can battle GOD and win!  Fools deny GOD and they are brought down, their end is Hell! The wise fall at the feet of JESUS and He causes them to stand tall, He raises them to Glory!

They have come!

With their vehicles of war.

They have come!

With armor and more.

They have come! 

With powerful speech.

They have come! 

With us in their reach.

But they did fall! 

To the ground they go!

They thought they could win

With GOD as their foe!

GOD’s Righteous have won! 

The victory is theirs!

To GOD’s power and strength!

No one compares!   

So if you think 

You can battle GOD and win.

You’re dumber than dumb,

And the devil’s your twin!

Many have tried 

with no avail.

Their winnings are poison,

Their abode is in Hell!

The Righteous have won!

They stand on their feet,

When the trumpet sounds,

Their resurrection is complete! 

     

“And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle. His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire; And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters. And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp two edged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.

And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death. Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter; The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks.” Revelation 1:13-19

I Remember When

Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God. Psalm 20:7

I have been blessed with a good memory.  My wife is always amazed by the things I recall  from the past.  I can remember way back in the early days of my childhood.  Some were beautiful and others were very sad.

As a believer I also have a good memory and like my childhood there have been good and wonderful times and some that have brought great sorrow.  Looking back there is one constant fact that determines the outcome of victory or defeat.  Depending on myself always brought defeat, but when I depended on the LORD there was always victory!

When I look back

On battles won,

I’m for ever thankful 

for GOD’s pure SON!  

When I remember

The ones I’ve lost.

Tried to do myself

They had great cost!

Not by the chariot 

fixed for war,

Or the mighty horse,

At the battles door!

Every battle 

that has been won,

Came not from self,

But through GOD’s Son!

“To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.” Jude 1:25

Glad I Know

“Now know I that the LORD saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand.” Psalm 20:6

There is a big difference between wishing and knowing.  I’m glad I know!  Not because of my intellect but because I can stand on the Word of GOD!  I’m most likely not as smart as most but I’m smart enough to trust the LORD!  He reached down from Glory through JESUS and I hold tightly to His right hand!

Out of Heaven GOD hears His anointed.

The arms of The Almighty surrounds His own.

Never to worry for help or assurance. 

Held by His right hand down from His throne!

“Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;  And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Philippians 2:9-11

I Rejoice

“We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the LORD fulfill all thy petitions.” Psalm 20:5

One day the LORD is either coming back or I will go to Him.  No matter what way I go, I will rejoice because His salvation is real!  While I wait for that great day I will continue to lift up my hands toward Glory and praise Him with all I have.

I will sing the song of salvation, of all His wondrous ways!  He took me from the mired mud where I was buried in the depths of my sin.  He led my way to salvation and raised me to the higher ground of His love.  How can I help but rejoice?

I have no worry 

Concerning what I face.

The LORD is with me 

No matter what takes place!

I’m filled with His assurance, 

my hearts all a glow.

Where ever He leads me, 

I’m ready to go!

I lift high this banner 

that represents my King.

I raise my arms toward Heaven, 

With my mouth I sing!

Joy overwhelming 

resides in my soul!

My GOD hears my prayers,

And onward I go!

“Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.” 1Timothy 6:12

GOD’s Heart

“Grant thee according to thine own heart, and fulfil all thy counsel.” Psalm 20:4

Can you imagine what it would be like if GOD didn’t have the heart He has?  All of mankind would be in a most miserable state.  It is GOD’s immense love that not only gives us life but gives us the opportunity to be made righteous through JESUS his Son!  Only a fool would not see this!

All of GOD’s heart is superior and holy!

All of the thoughts of GOD are pure!

All the provision of GOD perfect! 

GOD is there to take your fear!

So take your doubt and your frustration.

Lean on GOD and trust not on your own!

All you do aggravates your situation.

Give it to GOD who sits on the throne!

What GOD starts He will also finish!

GOD’s thoughts are instantly done!

GOD takes your trials and gives the victory!

With the help of GOD you’ve already won!

"Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:" Isaiah 24:8

"Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding."  Proverbs 3:5

An Effectual Prayer

“Remember all thy offerings, and accept thy burnt sacrifice; Selah.” Psalm 20:3

How humbling it is to know JESUS prayed for me.  Yes, and for all in the future that put their hope, trust and full reliance on CHRIST!  I don’t know about you but when I read John 17 I’m always humbled and tear up when I read it.   When I read I feel His presence!  After all He lives within me!

Thankful for the prayers You prayed for me

Before Your Holy Father!

I know I will never be worthy enough.  

I’m so thankful for the honor!   

This expression of Your love,

Is far from my understanding!

I’m unable to go on without Your help.

What I face is so demanding!

Fears expelled, relief excelled!

I’m forever in Your presence!

Once I sat alone with out hope.

Now surrounded in Your essence!

When my Father you find me

In the way of need!

Hear the words I speak to You.

It’s through the Son I plead!

In JESUS alone, He took my place,

His sacrifice is done!

When you look at me Father. 

Look only through Your SON!  

20Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; 21That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

22And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: 23I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me. 24Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.

25O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me. 26And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.  John 17:20-26

No Excuses

“Send thee help from the sanctuary, and strengthen thee out of Zion;” Psalm 20:2

The “Great Commission” JESUS gave to us before He went to the FATHER was given to all that claim CHRIST as Savior.  Some have miss understood believing it was intended for pastors and others that are trained for Christian service.    

You don’t have to be a theologian to to be a witness for JESUS!  You just need to be “born-again” and have a testimony to back it up!  “Return to thine own house, and shew how great things God hath done unto thee.” Luke 8:39  If you have nothing to say chances are you are not “born-again”!

If you are saved and have not been a witness, you are in rebellion to GOD’s Word!  Take relief in this promise, “he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:”  Phillipians 1:6  Tell someone what great things the LORD has done for you!

There is a task that is set before us,

It was declared by the Lord Himself!

Just one thing that He commissioned, 

Tell others of Him and not of yourself. 

This may seem like the simplest of orders.

And yet we are hindered as we try.

Oh my friend let me tell you,

Without His help it is impossible to comply!

Send me the help oh my dear Jesus.

Open my heart and help me to hear.

Give me the words that I might teach them

Of all your grace, to them appear!  

I need the strength you alone can give me.

My ability is limited with doubt and fright.

Lead me dear Lord by the Holy Spirit,

Help me to walk in your power and might!

Then I know I can have the victory.

I’ll be able to win the souls you sent by.

Then my life will be filled with splendor.

Knowing to your commission I did comply!

“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:  Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” Matthew 28:19-20

Put Him Back in Front!

“The LORD hear thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob defend thee;” Psalm 20:1

Fear overtakes the soul when you are in despair and there is no one to hear or help.  This is a lonely place to be.  I know, I’ve been there before.  I’ve had dreams of being in this situation and when I wake I have great relief.

To one that has never put their trust in CHRIST you can find yourself in this dreadful position.  Others are full of empty promises and will desert you when you need help the most.  They will say they are behind you but when you look back you can no longer see them. You are left to your misery.  

To the one that has put their trust in CHRIST they will find peace.  JESUS promised to never leave or forsake you and He won’t.  When you find yourself in this position of despair call out to the One that is always there for you!  Remember He will never leave you but you can distance yourself from Him!  When you look back you can still see him.  Put Him back in front!

When beset with trials 

And overflowing with despair

Call on Jesus!

He’ll be there!

I know this is true

Absolutely a fact! 

He’ll defend you for sure 

His power He’ll enact!  

No one is stronger

Or as mighty as He!

He gives orders to the heavens

And walks on the sea!

Men crumble before Him

To His feet they do fall!

They’ll cry out, He’s LORD!

While on their knees they crawl!

He gave help to Jacob.

He’ll do the same for you.

He’s not a respecter of persons.

Trust Him! He’ll carry you through!

Words and Thoughts

“Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.” Psalm19:14

Every word that proceeds from our mouths is as important as the breath we breathe.  Every thought we have conditions our hearts to speak those things that are most important.  Wasted thoughts bring wasted words!

My hearts breaks as I think of those the LORD has put in my path as He has done this week and even this afternoon.  Oh LORD, I pray my words were the right ones and that You were the One that chose them for me!

With every breath to speak your word

With reverence and with grace!

This is the desire of my heart.

For JESUS who took my place!

With every thought that passes through,

This mind that I possess,

Let all my thoughts be for You,

And evil ones suppress!

With the help that comes from You

I know I cannot fail.

But if I trust in myself   

I know I won’t prevail! 

“I intreated thy favour with my whole heart: be merciful unto me according to thy word.” Psalm 119:58

For the One that Loves the Most

“Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.” Psalm 19:13

I understand we can never be perfect except through CHRIST.  There is no other way but JESUS!  Doing everything we can to live a righteous life and glorify GOD brings, peace, joy and the satisfaction of doing our best for the One that loves us the most!

All sin causes grief

And sorrow is within!

When you’re in its presence

You will never, ever win!

All sin will torture 

The soul of everyone!

It gnaws at the heart!

Peace will never come!

All sin hurts 
And not only you.

But all those around you,

It will bite and it will chew!

All sin in the end 
Causes many tears!

Sorrow upon sorrow,

That lasts all your years!

All sin causes you 
To drift away!

From GOD and your family,

It causes much decay!

All sin can be forgiven 

By the Father’s Son!

Wiped from your heart,

His Spirit you have won!

“This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.”  1 John 1:5-10

Thank GOD for His Law

“Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults.” Psalm 19:12

Had it not been for GOD’s law I would have not known my own nature.  We are born sinners but in our hearts we don’t see it that way.  We get caught up in self, believing we are special and good.

One look at what GOD expects from us and we are certain we are imperfect.  It is impossible to escape our sin without the One who lived the sinless life, died for us and rose again!  JESUS SAVES!

Perfect is the law of GODReveling all my ways.Showing me I can’t keep it allTemptation my heart obeys!

I have utterly failed!

My wanderings have been many.

But in Christ I have prevailed!

I was told of JESUS

Who lived His life for me!

He died and He rose again.

His righteousness set me free!

“For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.” Romans 10:4

The Hearts Delight

“Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.” Psalm 19:11

The Word of God is most precious to the soul!  It is the path to righteousness and the guide for the saved.  What is written within in it is absolute truth!  It will never change or be updated!  It is the breath of God and nothing can alter it.

It is the lamp of life to the believer and a burning sword to those that refuse its teaching.  You don’t have to be special to understand or except it!  You must by faith accept it and believe!

Man has his teaching, some good and some not but GOD’s Word is the final form of truth!  Man can tickle the ear but GOD’s Word will convert the heart and make a new creation!

You will never have to worry

For what is right or wrong.

GOD’s Word will make it plain.

When kept it makes you strong!

You never have to wonder

If your doing right!

His law it will guide you

And keep you in His sight!

You’ll never have to hope

That His Word will come true.

There isn’t a chance it won’t

His promises will come through!

Trusting what God has spoken

Is the hearts delight!

The rewards they are many

And your life is clean and bright!

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old  things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” 2 Corinthians 5:17
