Beyond the Cross

The LORD liveth; and blessed be my rock; and let the God of my salvation be exalted.”  Psalm 18:46

The cross is a constant reminder of what our SAVIOR did for us!  Upon that cross the sinless JESUS was hung.  Sinless not because He was GOD in the flesh but because He was the second Adam, the sinless man who was tempted every way possible and yet refused! He did for us what we can’t do for ourselves!

His death was horrific in every way.  Many descriptions have been made and all have failed to express what happened leading up to and on that day!  But I must say without the resurrection His death would have only been an act of great kindness!  Many have died that others can live but only JESUS defeated death and rose from it!

Oh the glory of the King,
He rises from the east.
He showed His love for everyone
His power and His peace.

His agony was for you and me,
It was JESUS that suffered loss.
Taking all our sin and shame
He forgave us on the cross!

I find it hard to end this here
On Golgotha’s lonely hill.
After three days had passed
His resurrection became real!

“But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood. Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.” Hebrews 7:24-25
